SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse firefighters were stretched this weekend, responding to several alarms at the same time.
The city greenhouse on Onondaga Avenue caught fire Friday night, one of three structure fires within 90 minutes.
Within those 90 minutes, firefighters responded to a rollover accident, a double shooting on Catherine Street, a football injury, and a 10-year-old girl who was stuck on a garage roof.
Deputy Fire Chief David Reeves says the crews responded well in a difficult situation.
"We had to do some thinking on the fly, a little adjustment here or there. Some creative decisions to get companies free and cover all of the alarms," Reeves said.
Reeves also praised the Onondaga County 911 dispatch center for their handling of the situation, and getting emergency crews to the right places.
