SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- As wind and rain whips through the northeast, there could be delays for airline passengers.
Up and down the east coast the weather will be a problem with Sandy bearing down. There's some simple advice for people looking to fly.
"For the next several days folks should check the status of their flights prior to leaving for the airport. The good news is the airlines have already gone on record stating that they are going to wave the re-booking fees for people who choose to re-book, or if they have to, so I think that's a positive step that the airlines have made," says Aviation Commissioner Christina Callahan.
Delays in places like New York City, Philadelphia and Washington could have a domino effect across the region.
