ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Students at an Onondaga County school paraded the halls as a tribute to local veterans. Community members gathered at St. Rose of Lima in North Syracuse Wednesday to march, sing patriotic songs, and honor veterans of all wars from around Central New York.

Organizers of the event say they love to do this ahead of Veterans Day every year for the kids.

"We're very happy to do this because it shows them that they're growing up and many of them don't know that much about any war until later on. But everything we do here is for the students," said Ed Zaluski, World War II veteran.

Veterans are also visiting other schools in the area this week, including Lake Shore and Liverpool.
