PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Twin sisters from Jefferson County were closer than most other siblings ever are, but now they're getting a little more space. Eight-month-olds Allison and Amelia Tucker were born as conjoined twins at the lower chest and abdomen.
After a seven-hour surgery in Philadelphia Wednesday, they have been successfully separated. The lead surgeon says the surgery went well and the girls will be monitored closely while they recover. She says Allison and Amelia should be able to live normal and healthy lives.
