ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca's Clinton Street Bridge will soon be back in business. The heavily trafficked bridge is scheduled to re-open on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
The entire bridge had to be replaced and since April, the construction has been causing some major back-ups in downtown Ithaca.
Crews were able to finish work this month, as expected.
In a statement, Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick said, "Upon the re-opening of the Clinton Street Bridge and Prospect Street, I officially declare ‘Carmageddon’ over!”
He invites residents to join him Friday afternoon in re-opening ceremony.
