OWEGO, N.Y. -- More than a year after flooding shut it down, the McDonald’s on Hickories Park Road in Owego is back open.

The re-modeled restaurant includes a modern design and new double drive-thru lanes, which will be open 24 hours.

Managers say they are excited to be back and feel the re-opening is another step forward for the Owego community.

"The community's been very hard hit as we all know and now to have us back, a nice place to go with a warm friendly environment, we do a lot for the community, we're glad to be here and I think they are glad to have us back," said owner/operator Beth Dibble.

The McDonald’s in Owego originally opened in 1976.
