UTICA, N.Y.-- It's all aboard the Polar Express in Utica. The seasonal Adirondack Scenic Railroad line starts up this weekend.

This is the eleventh year for the Polar Express, originally based on the book by the same name.

Kids start with activities run by Santa's elves before they depart for the North Pole.

On their way north, they'll listen to Christmas tunes, as well as the book. This year, they've added a few new details to the experience, including a cocoa and cookie car hosted by Mrs. Claus.

Adirondack Scenic Railroad Utica Office Manager David Dietz said, "Seeing the expression on the kids' faces, just when they come in the station and see all the games happening, and once they are on the train and pulling into the North Pole, and you look off to the right and you see Santa Claus waiting for you... the energy that emits off them is just amazing."

The Polar Express will be running two trains every Friday through Sunday from now until Christmas.
