STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 78-year-old man is accused of stabbing his neighbor in the neck.

Raymond O'Keefe was arrested at his Wayland home at the Belanger Trailer Park Tuesday evening. Investigators say O'Keefe knocked on Laura Thomas' door and when she opened it, he attacked.

According to investigators, her husband stopped the attack.

Thomas was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment.

O'Keefe was arrested and charged with assault and attempted assault.
