SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- More than a year after going bankrupt, the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra is about to make a comeback.

Community leaders and musicians say they have put together a plan to re-launch the orchestra in a way they claim will allow the group to survive financially in tight fiscal times.

One key element of the plan is tying payments to musicians to the success of the orchestra.

"I think very few people open a business and think, this isn't going to work. I think we all believe it's going to work. And we believe that the enthusiasm we have for our performances will translate over and we will attract support and patronage and that we will have a successful organization," said Symphony Syracuse Chairman John Garland.

The new orchestra's first concert is a holiday themed program set for December 14th. That same night, organizers say they will unveil a new name for the symphony.
