BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- The woman convicted of beating her two-year-old son to death in 2010 will be back in court for sentencing Thursday.
Veronica Taft was found guilty of second degree murder, manslaughter in the first degree and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Her two-year old son, Lyric Taft, was found beaten and unresponsive at his Binghamton home in December 2010.
Taft is facing a maximum sentence of 25 years to life and minimum sentence of 18 years to life. She will be eligible for appeal after the sentencing.
