CARTHAGE, N.Y. -- A fairly new hotel in the Village of Carthage is up for grabs. An auction will be held for the Pleasant Night Inn at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Court Complex.

The hotel, located on North Broad Street, had only been open a couple of years before going into foreclosure. The former owner fell behind on his payments, resulting in Community Bank taking the title.

The current manager says she's worried the jobs of the seven hotel employees are in jeopardy.

Community Bank does say it will keep the hotel open while trying to find the next owner.

It has been operated for the past several months by a Syracuse management company.

The hotel manager says the bank is looking for about $1.7 million from a potential buyer. It originally cost over $3 million to open the business.
