Oswego business grants sick child’s wish
When seven-year-old cancer patient Julian Ross' outlook was classified as terminal, his parents helped him put together a bucket list. The list is made up of 12 requests, including a wish for a new van to help the family get back and forth from cancer treatments out of state. Our Candace Hopkins was with the family as an Oswego business made that hope a reality.

OSWEGO, N.Y. -- For Julian Ross every day is a blessing. The seven-year-old has been battling stage four neuroblastoma for more than a year.
"We tend not to focus too much on tomorrow. We focus more on today. Preplanning is not something you can do when you have a child who has cancer, because you'll get disappointed a lot," said Kristi Thompson, Julian's mother.
Julian's battle has been tough on his family. They are constantly back and forth between Oswego and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for his treatments. And when their van recently broke down, the trip got even harder.
"Julian requires so much medical care. We have to carry a wheelchair, and we have a 50 pound suitcase of medical supplies that we have to have follow him wherever he goes," said Thompson.
That's why when it came time for Julian to put together a bucket list, getting his family a new van landed at number four. It wasn't long before Timebuyer Owner Bob Natoli stepped in to help.
"There's a lot of things in this vehicle that will make their trips to therapy and back a lot more comfortable and enjoyable so it felt great, it did," said Bob Natoli, Timebuyer owner.
Monday afternoon, Natoli presented Julian and his family with a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. And a shy Julian happily gave it his seal of approval.
With their transportation worries solved, the family says their focus is once again on helping Julian grow strong with each passing day.
Julian has also had several other wishes granted. He recently got a chance to meet the band Train, and to visit an aircraft carrier. His family is now working to achieve his number one goal: to build an addition on his home that would allow for more space for his treatment and recovery.
