ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A high speed chase that started in Whitesboro ended in front of a Utica elementary school Wednesday morning, injuring a young child.
Police say a man who had reported his car stolen contacted police when he saw his vehicle parked at a gas station. When police arrived, two suspects sped off in the car.
The chase resulted in two different accidents. The perpetrators hit a parked car near Burstone Road and also hit a vehicle near Martin Luther King Elementary School. A young child was in the car and has some minor injuries.
"The suspects then fled on foot. We have one of the persons in custody and we currently have charges against him," said Utica Police Chief Mark Williams.
Police arrested Terrance Nash, 27. He's being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and violating his parole.
The other suspect has yet to be found.
