BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- All those holiday decorations going up signal the time of season when we think most about giving back. There is one family in Binghamton that has been doing just that for the past 22 years.

Sam’s Club invited William Bandera to their store in Vestal to present him with a donation of $2,000 to go toward the 23rd annual Bandera Family Christmas Dinner.

Last year, the Bandera Community alliance fed more than 4,000 people who either came to the American Legion in Binghamton, or had dinner delivered to them. This year, the tradition continues and the Bandera family hopes to not only fill stomachs on Christmas Day, but also provide a family atmosphere for those who come.

"Whatever their situation is, we provide a place where people can come and eat and feel and be treated like family and that's really why we keep doing it," said William Bandera, Bandera Community Alliance President.

Mr. Bandera estimates that the donation from Sam’s Club will help feed approximately 1,000 people on Christmas Day.
