SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY, PA -- The northern tier community of New Milford is mourning the loss of a teenager after he was hit and killed by a train Tuesday morning.

Troopers say Mahlon Mosher, 16, was walking on the train tracks on his way to Blue Ridge High School. Investigators say Mosher was wearing headphones and didn't hear the train's air horn.

The conductor attempted to stop, but the engine's front plow hit Mosher, killing him.
