VESTAL, N.Y. -- Around 400 students graduated at Binghamton University's fall commencement on Sunday.

Organizers say it's the first time in seven years they’ve grouped undergraduate and graduate students together for commencement. It’s a preview to how ceremonies will be conducted in the spring. Those will be divided by individual schools.

Organizers and students say the day was full of excitement.

"It is the best part of my job, everyone is happy, celebrating one of the biggest challenges they've had so far in their lives, so it's really rewarding," BU Commencement Director Amy Hanford said.

"It's been really exciting, both me and my roommate are graduating now. Just getting all nervous and excited. I have no words," BU graduate Diane Henderson said.

About 760 Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees were awarded this semester.

The University's first ever fall commencement was held back in 2007.
