NEW YORK STATE -- A charity effort by one local business is helping more than a dozen non-profits.

Groups like the House of the Good Shepherd, Evelyn’s House and the ARC of Oneida and Lewis counties accepted donations from the Carbone Auto Group Monday.

The company asked employees to donate a gift to less fortunate children and wound up collecting more than 350.

Carbone matched that number, handing out 700 gifts to charity.
