SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It’s a home away from home and a helpful place to get a holiday meal. The Central New York Ronald McDonald House held its annual Christmas dinner Tuesday for their guests.

The Ronald McDonald House acts as a temporary home for families whose children are hospitalized with serious illnesses or injuries.

A current resident in the house says it's comforting that people would go out of their way to make the holiday brighter for others.

"Just the support of having a home away from home, fantastic. I can't say enough about the people here," Gary Staiger said.

Most of the food served was donated by individuals in the community.
