Christmas may be over, but the shop 'til you drop mindset is still there. Destiny USA was packed with day after holiday shoppers Wednesday morning. As our Cara Thomas reports, shopping the day after Christmas is a tradition many people love.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Christmas Day has passed and the gifts are unwrapped. And while shoppers say they got everything they wanted, there's always that sweater that doesn't fit just right or those presents you could have gone without.

Kayla Crosby said, "My dad got me some interesting books."

So shoppers are back to make returns or exchanges. And they say the day after Christmas is the only day they could get it done.

Lynn and Nicole Borden say they had to return a few things.

"She's home from college for a couple days, so we just want to get it done and get it over with and enjoy the rest of the vacation."

Returns and exchanges aren't the only things bringing shoppers to the mall. It's the deals like these that are the main attraction.

"Fifty percent off or buy one, get one free. Things like that," said Crosby.

Cindy Sugrue is shopping with her husband.

She said, "My coat was $129 marked down to $40. Yes and those deals go quick, there's only a couple of those, so if you get out there, the earlier you get out there, the better deals you get."

Shoppers say going to the mall the day after Christmas is an annual tradition they can't pass up. Buying things for themselves that Santa didn't put under the tree this year or doing their Christmas shopping now to save a few bucks.

Sugrue said, "Every year for the last 10 years, the day after Christmas, my husband and I shop for each other."

Joanne Blenis, another annual day after Christmas shopper, said, "My best friend and I always do this the day after Christmas. We get up at the crack of dawn and go shopping and just look for deals."

People at the mall say they're taking full advantage of their gift cards and Christmas money, stretching their dollar as far as they can.
