OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- With the new year comes new district lines in Oswego County. The county legislature voted in favor of the plan Friday night, 14 to nine.
The number of districts stays the same at 25. But with the changing population, district lines needed to be redrawn.
Each legislator is supposed to have, on average, the same number of constituents. And according to the 2010 census, those numbers were falling out of line.
The re-apportioned districts will actually take effect when legislators are voted into office in next November's election.
