STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- Three people were arrested in connection with two attempted robberies in Bath.

Police were first called to a home on Colonial Lawns just before 12:30 a.m. Friday. That's where officers found a 39-year-old woman who had been assaulted. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

About half an hour later, police were called to an apartment on West Washington Street. A 31-year-old man told the officers that three suspects came into his apartment with handguns. He dove through a second floor window to get away.

Police were able to connect the two robbery attempts and later arrested Jordan Guerin, 18, of Bath, Sheila Gay, 23, of Bath, and Derek Storms, 25, of Wellsville. They have each been charged with two counts of first degree attempted robbery and two counts of fourth degree conspiracy.

All three are being held without bail.

The handguns have been recovered.
