CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Elmira Heights man was charged after someone was attacked with a knife on New Year's morning. Police say Gregory Barber, 32, has been charged with first degree assault.

The incident happened just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday at Dottie's Place in Elmira. Investigators have not released the name of the victim.
