Car hits utility pole, causing live wires to fall into street

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A one car crash in DeWitt shut down part of Jamesville Road after live wires fell in the street Wednesday evening.

DeWitt Police say a car went off the road and hit a utility pole a little before 5 p.m. The driver was not hurt, but the utility pole was broken in half.

The area between Woodchuck Hill, Rock Cut and Solvay roads was closed while National Grid crews worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
