UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica hospital is eliminating 37 positions, including 10 layoffs.

Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare blamed the cuts on financial challenges. A statement released by the hospital cites reductions in federal payments for patient and resident care.

Eligible employees were offered a severance package.

The hospital system employs 2,900 people in the Mohawk Valley.
