BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Officials are releasing new details in a Monday afternoon crash that caused a car to go off an overpass on Interstate 81 in the Town of Chenango.

Police are now saying the woman driving the car fell asleep at the wheel. Deputies say her sister woke her up as she was heading toward the median and that's when the woman overcorrected and the car went off the overpass landing on Castle Creek Road.

The woman, her teenage sister and an 11-month-old were all transported to UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City with minor injuries.
