CENTRAL SQUARE, N.Y. -- Word of a new racetrack coming to Oswego County has left a lot of people looking for answers.
Nearly two dozen members of the Central Square community showed up Thursday to talk with the people behind the Central New York Race Park Project.
A group of investors has purchased 150 acres of land between the Brewerton Speedway and Central Square Middle School where they hope to build a race facility. The project is still in the planning stages, but with so little information out there, people had a lot of questions about concerning the impact on traffic, noise, the environment and what its tax status would be.
The Town of Hastings is holding two meetings next Wednesday, January 30th, where people can raise their concerns about the project. Those are at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Project organizers will use that feedback to determine what they will address in their environmental impact statement.
