ONEONTA, N.Y. -- More than a hundred SUNY Oneonta students returned to their dorm Friday, after last week's fire at Matteson Hall.

The fire in a suite on the third floor caused significant damage to the building's electrical system, the top floor is been closed for the semester, but students living in the rest of the building were welcomed back Friday.

They had been staying at a nearby Holiday Inn, while contractors and cleaning crews prepared the building for their return.

The rest of the students were reassigned to rooms in other residence halls late last week.
