New Hartford school bus crash
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- Slippery roads this morning caused a crash in New Hartford involving a school bus. It happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Kellogg Road and State Route 8.
Police say the driver of this car, Michael Vargas, 28, was turning off Route 8 and lost control because of snowy road conditions. Vargas was ticketed for speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign.
Vargas' car then slid into Kellogg Road and hit the side of a New Hartford school bus. No students were on the bus and no one was injured in the crash.
