BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- After being awarded more than $91 million in December, dozens of projects in the Southern Tier are beginning to take shape.

Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy discussed plans for 62 benefitting programs with the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council Wednesday.

The big winners were the High Tech Job Incubator in Binghamton, receiving $7 million and Corning Incorporated, winning $3 million.

Wednesday, the Council approved money for National Pipe and Plastics, a Vestal-based company that will soon relocate to Endicott.

"That's, I believe, $354,000 to help them, and that's under the category of 'Industrial Access Funding,' but it clearly is part of the regional council's pot of resources," said Tom Tranter, Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council co-chair.

The money will be used to help fund the company's move, keeping 150 jobs in Broome County.
