WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Driving in bad conditions can be just as treacherous for the snow plows out on the roads. DOT workers let us come along for a ride.

They say the snow is nothing new, and is pretty easy to handle. It's when you add in the wind and freezing temperatures that things can get tough.

"It's not bad right now. It gets slippery though because the road is colder and the snow freezes to it," said Rusty Van Tassel, DOT snow plow driver.

Officials are reminding drivers that the plows travel at about 35 miles per hour and that driving behind those plows is probably the safest place to be on the roads.
