NEW YORK STATE -- Like every winter weather storm system, New York State emergency personnel are on the lookout.

Troopers and supervisors are assigned to all shifts for the storm. Normal patrol coverage is being supplemented by the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit and Traffic Incident Management.

State Police don't take any storm warnings lightly. So, they're always on the lookout for hazardous drivers.

New York State Police Sergeant Michael McDarby said, "We're always cognizant of people over driving their vehicles, of people making poor decisions, of inexperienced drivers, not recognizing the fact that, their vehicle won't stop on a dime when there's ice and snow on the road."

They warn drivers to be aware of snowy road conditions and to slow down when necessary.
