BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two environmental groups are suing a Broome County town for banning discussion of natural gas drilling and fracking at town board meetings.

The lawsuit was filed against Sanford by the National Resources Defense Council and the Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy.

Back in September, the town board ruled fracking could no longer be talked about during meetings. They say hundreds of hours of public comment have already been held on the topic.
