BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- Members of Governor Andrew Cuomo's cabinet continue their travels across the state, meeting with organizations to explain the new budget proposals being reviewed by state lawmakers.

The state's canal corporation head, Brian Stratton, was running through the numbers for members of Baldwinsville's Rotary Club. Stratton says the sessions across New York have helped involve more people in the annual budget process. And they have been asking serious questions.

Stratton said, “You're generally getting questions about the economic development initiatives, about the quality of life initiatives. Particularly, local governments are very interested in mandate relief.”

State lawmakers, who are on a winter break, expect to act on the budget in March.
