BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Broome County woman granted a new trial for a 2009 murder has rejected a plea deal instead opting to present her case again in court.

Ashley Carnevale and her husband, Anthony, are both currently serving time for killing one person and wounding another during a robbery attempt in a Kirkwood home.

Ashley Carnevale was found guilty in 2010 of two counts of second degree murder, assault, attempted assault and attempted robbery. But that conviction was appealed last year.

Carnevale was recently offered a deal, but she turned that down and asked for a new trial instead. A date for that trial has not yet been set.

Anthony Carnevale is serving 25 years to life after a guilty plea in 2009.
