SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A local Syracuse woman celebrates a century's worth of Valentine's Day with family and friends.
Juliane Butcavage was born three months premature in 1913 on Valentine's Day. One hundred years later, Juliane has two sons, is grandma to four and has nine great-grandchildren.
One of those grandchildren is currently serving as a Marine in Afghanistan and joined in the celebration through Skype.
Juliane's son, Michael, says that being able to bring the two together through the internet is the ultimate gift on such a special day.
"Means more to me than I can say, no question. We're very proud of our son and really proud of my mom," Michael Butcavage said.
Juliane's party was held at the Loretto retirement home in Syracuse and included 80 of her fellow residents.
