BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Parts of the ACA Memorial Park site will be taken apart Tuesday to undergo a scheduled inspection.
The park's 13 bird figurines will be removed from their mounts by glass artisan Milon Townsend to see how well they weathered their first winter.
Each bird represents one of the people killed in the mass shooting nearly four years ago.
The memorial park remains under construction. Benches and paving stones are expected to be installed in March.
The birds will be back in time for the project's completion. It's expected to be done before the April 3rd anniversary of the shooting.
