73 animals found living in unhealthy conditions

BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Kirkwood woman has been arrested after dozens of animals were found living in unhealthy conditions in her home.

Lisa Mistretta, 49, runs the Humane Enforcement and Animal Rescue, also known as HEART, Incorporated, out of her home on Burts Road.

The Broome County Humane Society went to the home and found the 73 dogs and cats living in conditions that cause animal illness and suffering.

Mistretta has been charged with animal cruelty.

The animals were taken in by the county's humane society.
