Jets holding open practice following recent altercations

Today is your last chance this week to check out Jets training camp at SUNY Cortland. Gang Green will hold an open practice today and then prepare to go on the road for its first preseason game Friday in Cincinnati. The team has garnered plenty of attention after at least three team altercations during practice the last few days. Our Brad Vivacqua reports.

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- What has transpired over the last 48 hours at Jets camp has been entertaining, to say the least. After a nearly 20 player pile up on Monday and then two separate altercations between players on Tuesday, the team is getting a little bit anxious to play in its first pre-season game.

Today will be the last open practice this week for the Jets. The team won't be back in Cortland for practice again until Sunday after its pre-season game against Cincinnati.

The team will practice until 11 a.m. today. The Jets team shop and the Jet's Fest Fun Zone will stay open until noon on campus.

The buzz continues over the recent team scuffles over the past few days. A nearly 20 player melee broke out in front of fans here at practice on Monday, which was shot exclusively by Time Warner Cable Sports. Tuesday, an altercation between two rookies at a closed practiced occurred, which was followed by another altercation between veterans Antonio Cromartie and Dustin Keller.

That was enough for head coach Rex Ryan, as he made the team run gassers, which are sprints from sideline to sideline.

The fans will be back here today and they will likely have plenty to say regarding those team fights.
