SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Family members mark the one year anniversary of the death of little Rashaad Walker Jr.
The 20-month-old boy was killed on Syracuse's Coolridge Avenue last November as part of what police believe was a long-standing gang feud. They believe the bullet that killed the toddler was meant for his father.
Family members say it has been a struggle to move forward.
"There is not one day that goes by that I don't think about him. How could you not? So just one day at a time and I just hold my kids close to me and just do my best to do the right thing. And not to ever put myself in a situation where my kids would be taken away from me, or I'd be taken away from my kids," said Liasia Walker, Rashaad Walker Jr.’s aunt.
Family members hope the toddler's death serves as a wakeup call for the community.
