CHEMUNG, N.Y. – In the Town of Chemung, multiple people have died in an apparent house fire.

The county Sheriff's office is releasing little information this hour, saying only that they were called to a possible fire around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on McDowell Road. A neighbor called in the fire.

The Sheriff's office is not saying how many people died in the incident. They are only saying they are in the initial stages of an investigation.

No names have been released at this time.
