NEW YORK STATE -- Hannaford Supermarket has announced a recall of Athena cantaloupes from Burch Farms in North Carolina.
Farm representatives say the melons may contain listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious illness.
According to Burch Farms, when the recall was announced, no illnesses had been reported.
Hannaford has removed the product from their shelves and is advising customers not to eat the cantaloupe. Customers can return melons or just the sticker to get a full refund.
Stickers will reference Burch Farms and read "Cantaloupe PLU 4319."
